YOUTHS suspected of hurling eggs at passing cars are believed to have been chased by a cyclist armed with an air rifle and a knife.
Police want to speak to witnesses after the incident near The Walshes estate in Stourport on Hallowe’en.
A group of youths were throwing eggs at passing traffic along the A451 after dark between 5.20pm and 6pm.
But a car driver is then thought to have stopped his vehicle, got out and chased the group.
Police believe the man then borrowed a push bike from another man to give chase and was carrying a knife and an air rifle.
PC Ben Mullet said: “We are trying to establish exactly what happened and want people to come forward if they haven’t already spoken to officers.”
Officers want to speak to anyone who was in Bridge Street, at Stourport skate park or walking over the road bridge towards the housing estate at the time.
“We are particularly interested in hearing from the male who loaned his bicycle to the other male to chase after the group as he may well have information to help forward our enquiries,” added PC Mullet.
Police say the driver and passengers of a bus - which had to brake sharply to avoid the cyclist, or the youths may also be an “important” witnesses and want to speak to them.
Anyone with information should call PC Mullet at Kidderminster police on 0300 3333000, quoting 509-S-311009, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
