THE driver of a sports car suffered serious head injuries after a crashing with a bus.
The incident happened on the B4216 Ledbury to Dymock road at Donnington, near Ledbury, shortly after 7pm on Friday.
A white Mazda MX5 convertible heading south from Ledbury towards Dymock was taking a left-hand bend when it crashed with a Dennis single-decker travelling in the opposite direction.
The Mazda’s male driver suffered serious injuries and is currently in a critical condition at Hereford County Hospital.
A woman passenger on the bus suffered serious facial injuries and was also treated at the same hospital although her condition is not life-threatening.
The bus driver and the remaining two passengers were uninjured.
Police shut the road for several hours while the emergency services worked at the scene and crash investigators scanned the site in a bid for clues as to what caused the smash.
Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two vehicles travelling on the road immediately beforehand.
