PRIME Minister Gordon Brown has apologised to the mother of a soldier killed in Afghanistan - after he mis-spelled the guardsman's surname in a letter.
Jacqui Janes says that the handwritten letter, which referred to her son as Jamie James, was a "hastily scrawled insult" and showed complete lack of respect.
But No 10 has defended the matter, saying that Mr Brown has sight difficulties and would never knowingly spell someone's name wrong.
What do you think? Is it a forgiveable oversight or disrespect? How would you react in the same situation?
