WORCESTERSHIRE companies are to be given the inside track on how to benefit from the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Hosted by the Hereford-shire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, a launch event for the 2012 Business Awareness Work-shops will take place on Friday, November 13, at the Abbey Hotel, Malvern.

It is free and will outline the variety of new business opportunities created by the 2012 Games as well as the best ways to access and tender for contracts.

Those attending the workshop will be trained in the use of CompeteFor.

This is a free service that enables businesses to access contract opportunities linked to the 2012 Games and other major public and private sector buying organisations.

Nicky Griffiths, director of business development at the chamber, said: “We are keen to ensure that businesses across Worcestershire and Herefordshire have the best opportunities to bid for contracts, this is not just about big business, there will be many smaller contracts.

“The sheer number of products and services that will be required for London 2012 means that there is much potential for the many diverse businesses in our two counties to become involved.”
