A Droitwich cadet has been awarded her grade one pilot wings and has been named as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Worcestershire.
Gaining her wings means Cadet Sergeant Ellie Nicholls, from 2516 (Droitwich) squadron, can take other cadets on glider experience flights.
Her appointment as Worcestershire’s cadet will see her accompany the Lord Lieutenant, Michael Brinton, on his official duties.
Ellie, aged 18, who has been a cadet for five years, flew solo for the first time in April 2008 and has since flown more than 250 flights including 50 solo flights. She has already taken her fellow cadets from Droitwich on their first glider flights.
