BUSINESSES and organisations across Worcestershire are being invited to put the economy under the spotlight at a special Worcestershire County Council event.

Global Slowdown, Local Solutions 2 on Thursday, November 26, is being organised by the council on behalf of the county’s Economy Action Group.

People attending the event will hear from Trish Haines, chief executive of the county council and chairman of the Economy Action Group, as well as Advantage West Midlands, the organisation behind the West Midlands Regional Task Force.

There will be a question and answer session, while ‘market place’ stands from a wide range of services will provide sources of help and support. Mrs Haines said: “This is a vital event for the future of our local economy. We’ll be able to consider how we can all work together for the benefit of our economy, now and in the weeks and months to come.

“As well as explaining the steps we’ve taken so far, and the positive effects that the Economy Action Group’s work has had, we’ll also be planning ahead and identifying the best ways to promote and protect local businesses and organisations.

“I encourage everyone with an interest in the local economy to book a place.”
