OWNERS of cute kittens, lovable dogs and adorable small furry animals are being urged to send in their entries as soon as possible for this year’s Pet Idol 2009.
The Worcester News competition, backed by the store Just for Pets, is looking for the city’s best pets to be in with a chance to win the £3,000 worth of prizes we have up for grabs.
The closing date for text message entries is tomorrow but the closing date for e-mail and post entries has been moved to Tuesday because of the postal strikes.
Owners of dogs, cats and small furry animals can put their pets forward to the popular annual competition. The prizes, courtesy of sponsors Just for Pets, will be split between the winners. Already, there have been 200 entries, and more are expected to flood in over the next few days. Sarah Bevan, Worcester News promotions manager said: “I am delighted with our readers’ response to our annual Pet Idol competition – Worcester News readers are clearly pet lovers. We have had some very cute, very fluffy and very interesting entries in already.”
A colour supplement will be published on Tuesday, November 17, featuring all the entries. Readers will be able to vote for their top 10 favourites in each category and a winner will be announced in December.
You can enter by sending in a clear and close-up photo of your pet by post, by e-mail or – new for this year – by text message.
For post entries, just complete the coupon printed on page 8 and post it to Pet Idol 2009 Competition, Worcester News, Promotions Dept, Hylton Road, Worcester WR2 5JX.
Or you can drop your entry in at any Just For Pets stores in Worcester, Malvern, Droitwich, Evesham, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.
You can also e-mail your picture and details to petidol@worcesternews.co.uk. Alternatively, text your picture by starting your message with PETIDOLWN, leave a space and then send your details including your name, address, pet’s name, category and a sentence about your pet to 80360.
Messages cost 50p plus normal operator text charge. Text lines close tomorrow.
