OVER £2,000 of games consoles has been stolen from a couple's business at an indoor market.

Burglars took the items from Town Games in Evesham’s Central Market.

“When I saw that everything had been taken I just felt like giving up, but we will have to carry on – particularly as we have to cover the cost of the stock that has been taken,” said owner Tony Bell.

He added: “It has taken us two years hard work to get to where we are today in setting up what we hoped would grow into a family business that would expand so that our children could join us later."

Two men were seen on CCTV leaving the indoor market at around 7am on Saturday, October 31, about two hours before the theft was discovered.

Wychavon Police believe the stolen items will be offered for re-sale in the run-up to Christmas.

They have warned games-playing fans to be wary of offers from unusual sources of new, or almost new, items at greatly reduced prices.

The items include two black slim line Sony PlayStation 3s, two Nintendo Wii’s, an elite black Microsoft X-Box 360 and a black-and-red Nintendo DSI.

If anyone saw anything suspicious in or near the markets off High Street between 5pm on October 30 and 9am on October 31 – or who believes they have been offered any of the stolen items – they should call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 201S/311009.
