LOCAL artisans have been selling their wares in Worcester High Street.
The opening day of the annual arts market was a success, with hundreds of people there to meet local artists and buy unique art.
The market, which first ran in 2007, will take place at the Elgar Statue end of the High Street from 9.30am to 5.30pm today and from 10am to 4.30pm tomorrow, with 30 stalls and seven new artists selling their crafts.
The aim is to showcase work by professional artists while offering shoppers the chance to buy quality work at affordable prices.
Sam Waterhouse, aged 25, of Battenhall, Worcester, was hoping to buy some handmade art. He said: “It’s the perfect place to find some unique Christmas gifts. It’s good to have something like this in the High Street because it makes Worcester feel much more vibrant.”
