STAKES will be high when Wyre Forest cancer research fund-raisers gamble on a casino night to cash in the chips.
Organisers predict the odds will be good for a great night at the black tie evening, complete with bar, at Heightington Village Hall, near Bewdley, on Friday November 6.
Punters will be provided with £25,000 of “fantasy” chips to use at the gaming tables provided by the Kidderminster and District Lions.
Every £10,000 profit will entitle the shrewd player to a raffle ticket and the chance of a prize in the exclusive draw.
All proceeds raised will go to the Wyre Forest committee of Cancer Research UK for the continued search for life-saving treatments.
Committee member and organiser Pam Jarvie said: “The evening should be a lot of fun and at the same time raise some vital funds for research into treatments for cancer – which at some time or other is likely to affect us all directly or indirectly.”
A glass of sparkling wine, or red wine, plus canapés is included in the £15 cost of tickets, which are available by contacting Pam on 01299 266468.
