A ceramic artist who trained at Royal Worcester in the 1960s has returned to the Worcester Porcelain museum as its Artist in Residence.
James - or Jim - Skerrett will be at the museum, on Severn Street, on Thursdays and Saturdays and will give painting demonstrations in the galleries and show visitors how to paint tiles.
Mr Skerrett was appointed to Royal Worcester in 1969 where he painted limited editions of fruit and landscapes and learnt the art of gilding.
In 1989 he started working for himself and gives classes to adults and children.
Museum manager, Amanda Savidge, said: “We’re delighted to have Jim working with us and we look forward to the contribution he will make particularly in the run up to Christmas.
“We know from ‘one off’ tile and plate painting sessions we’ve run before, that adults and children alike enjoy creating their own designs and look forward to collecting the fired results a few days later!”
