AN appeal for Malvern stone to help repair the pond in the centre of Hanley Swan has proved a great success.
After pond warden Neil Verlander put out a plea for the stone in the Worcester News’ sister paper, the Malvern Gazette, he was delighted to be offered six tons of it. But more material will be needed to get the work done.
He said: “We’d like more Malvern stone, or hard-core or sub-soil. There is about 100 yards of the bank which is seriously eroded and needs to be built up.” He would like to hear from anyone who can help, as a team from the local probation service will start repairing the bank on Saturday, November 7.
