TWO tractors worth a combined total of £145,000 have been stolen in south Worcestershire.
A green Fendt 820, valued at £70,000 - with red wheels and registration HF07 GJZ - was seen being stolen from a field at Longdon Hill, Wickhamford, Evesham at 7pm hours on Monday, October 26 and driven towards Broadway.
The land-owner initially thought it was being collected by the company it had been loaned from.
A green and yellow, John Deere 7530 worth £75,000 - registration VX59 JNU - was taken from a ploughed field alongside the Evesham-Tewkesbury Road near Ashton-under-Hill between 7.30pm and 8.30pm hours Tuesday, October 27.
Mud on the road showed that it was driven towards Tewkesbury.
Police have issued pictures of the near-identical machines to alert farmers and users of heavy plant to be wary of the machines being offered for sale.
“While there is currently nothing to directly link the two thefts it does seem to be more than coincidence that two such high-value machines have been taken in such a short space of time,” said a police spokesman.
Anyone who is approached regarding either of the tractors - or who may have seen something at either location that now seems suspicious - is asked to call police on 0300 333 3000, quoting 118S/281009 for the Wickhamford theft or 641S/271009 for the Ashton-under-Hill offence.
