A WORCESTERSHIRE firm of lawyers sponsored an award for best law student – then recruited the winner to join its team.
Harrison Clark snapped up Worcester College of Technology graduate Jane Chandler after she won best Bachelor of Law degree student when she graduated earlier this year.
Mature student Mrs Chandler has been taken on as a part-time paralegal in the insolvency department while she completes her legal practice course at Birmingham College of Law.
“Jane excelled in her law degree, winning the award for her fantastic academic performance throughout the course,” said Harrison Clark’s head of insolvency Jon Whitbread.
“During her degree, Jane worked on a one-day-a-week basis at Harrison Clark and we were impressed by her all-round performance as part of our team.”
Mrs Chandler, who lives in Bromsgrove, was a marketing co-ordinator at estate agents Andrew Grant before working at Harrison Clark.
“I had always wanted to become a lawyer and taking the course was a fantastic experience which also fitted in with my family commitments,” she said.
“I am very proud of the award and of joining Harrison Clark.
“I look forward to completing my legal practice course and hopefully securing a training contract with the firm.”
