CHILDREN in Worcestershire are being encouraged to get active with the launch of an exciting new fund-raising event.
As part of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Food4Thought campaign, 174 schools in Worcestershire are being urged to get involved with Ultimate Dodgeball – aimed at children aged between seven and 16 years old.
Schools that register for Ultimate Dodgeball will receive a free organiser’s kit containing £30 of resources including three balls; an organiser’s guide, teacher’s manual, posters and sponsorship forms, plus they get to keep 20 per cent of the money raised, to spend how they choose.
The BHF’s Food4Thought campaign also marks the return of the Yoobot, an online game which helps children to make informed and healthier food choices (yoobot.co.uk).
Clare Cassidy, fund-raising volunteer manager for the BHF, said: “Ultimate Dodgeball is a great way of making exercise fun and accessible for children at school – all ages and abilities can play – while raising vital funds for the nation’s heart charity and the school.”
