THE Citizens’ Advice Bureau in Worcester has responded to increased demand by adding extra opening hours from tomorrow.
The bureau, which recently merged with Worcester Housing and Benefits Advice Centre, will open in The Hopmarket every Thursday between 1pm and 4pm to make appointments and give advice on topics ranging from legal issues to relationship and employment.
People can visit to book an appointment between 9.30am and 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. They will then be given the earliest slot possible.
The bureau will also make bookings by phone between 4pm and 6pm on Thursdays.
Training manager Rachel Leather said: “After our successful merger with Worcester Housing and Benefits Advice Centre in April, we are able to offer a wider range of assistance. We make appointments at the Hopmarket bureau for specialist housing and benefits caseworkers based in Lowesmoor and both services are seeing an increased demand.
“We have highly trained volunteer advisers who can offer advice on all kinds of topics. We also have specialist caseworkers who deal specifically with debt, housing, employment and welfare benefits. We hope the extra opening hours will give us more chance to see people and to give them the advice they need as effectively as we can”
The telephone number to ring on Thursdays between 4pm and 6pm is 01905 611371.
There is also an e-mail advice service at advice@ worcestercab.cabnet.org.uk.
