TWO new members were welcomed to the October meeting.
Members are looking forward to several Severn Group events and our visit to St Richard’s Hospice.
On the morning of Tuesday, November 24, our art group will be holding an exhibition and coffee morning in our village hall.
Last month members enjoyed visits to Owlpen Manor, the Michaelmas daisies at Picton and the federation new speakers’ evening.
Our speaker was Roy Sturdy, and his subject was Worcestershire remembered. His slides took us around Worcester and outlying villages in the Edwardian period, showing us not only what the buildings were like, but also what it was like to live in that era.
Many of us were able to recognise some of the places shown, though some lovely looking buildings have been demolished.
Thank goodness beautiful and significant old buildings are now listed and retained for posterity.
It was an enjoyable talk, though we all decided we would not have wanted the hard life that many had to contend with in those days.
Our annual meeting will be on Tuesday, November 10, when we shall also learn how to detox our homes. For more details, call Sue Strang on 01684 5924508.
