PUPILS at a Worcester primary school showed off their creative skills to take part in a national art competition.
Youngsters at St George’s CE Primary School, Barbourne, took advantage of the latest technology in a bid to achieve further success in the Big Draw competition. The Big Draw is a month-long artistic event for people of all ages and abilities.
St George’s was a national winner two years ago and pupils were highly commended for their work last year. Headteacher Steve Mills said: “We wanted to encourage the pupils to get involved with different types of art which is why we had the animation workshop. The year six pupils were trained up as group leaders and worked with smaller groups of younger children.”
The school has sent off the finished animated film to the Big Draw. The winners will be announced early next year.
