METHOD acting took a new twist for a Bromyard production of Sweeney Todd when the director took to the barber’s chair for a very close shave.
Mark Cox had his stubble cleared with a cut throat razor as cast members looked on and picked up tips on how to use the nerve-racking implement correctly.
Luckily, he was in safe hands as local barber Paul Faulkner – instead of murderous Todd – did the deed.
Mr Cox, of Bromyard, said: “We were looking to get a barber shop involved and Paul was really good because he was aware of how to shave people as they would have done in Victorian times.
“He had a very steady hand. I don’t think I would have trusted Sweeney Todd to do it.”
The amateur production includes cast members from the Conquest Players and the Falcon Players.
The production runs from November 18 to 21 at 8pm at the Conquest Theatre and tickets are available on 01885 488575 or at conquest-theatre.co.uk.
