THERE will be plenty of ghoulish goings on at aKidderminster fitness centre when it hosts a Halloween aerobathon to raise cash for wounded troops.

Monday’s event has been organised in memory of Lance Corporal Richard Brandon, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last month.

It will be held at DW Sports Fitness Centre in Weavers Wharf from 9.30am to 8.30pm and money raised will be donated to Help for Heroes.

Michelle Walton, who organised the event with fitness instructor Hannah Yardley, wanted to do something to remember L/Cpl Brandon as he was a friend of her son, Leigh Hemming.

“Leigh was in the same Army training as Richard and they became friends,” she said. “When I heard the sad news about his death I wanted to do something, so I thought I would put on an event for Help for Heroes.”

All classes at the gym will have a Halloween theme, such as spooky circuits, creepy crawly cardio kick and circuits of terror.

Help for Heroes wristbands will be on sale at the event, which is also open to non-members. More information is available at helpfor heroes.org.uk.
