A 28-year-old man will stay in jail while he awaits trials for allegedly perverting the course of justice and dealing drugs.
Mushtaq Hussain, of The Hill Avenue, in Worcester, appeared at the city’s magistrates court charge with possessing cannabis with a street value of about £2,000 with intent to supply.
Hussain has already admitted driving dangerously and while disqualified on the streets of Worcester on Sunday, January 2, 2005.
A hearing to commit the case to the city’s crown court was fixed for Thursday, November 19.
Hussain is also charged with perverting the course of justice.
In connection with that offence he was also charged with driving other than in accordance with his licence and driving without insurance in Mill Wood Drive, Warndon Villages, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. He has since admitted both charges.
Hussain will now be tried separately on Monday, January 18 at the city’s crown court.
Bail was applied for by Hussain’s solicitor Judith Kenney but opposed by Crown Prosecution Service.
Magistrates refused bail and Hussain will now appear at magistrates court for his committal hearing.
