A 20-YEAR-old who climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for charity has described the adventure as emotionally exhausting.
Worcester College of Technology student Hannah Chatterton hiked up the world’s highest freestanding mountain in aid of Acorns Children’s Hospice. Her 12-year-old cousin, Millie Pearson, is severely disabled and attends the Worcester hospice for respite care.
“It was a very emotional trip,” said Miss Chatteron, of Sutton Park Rise, Kidderminster.
“For the first few days of the climb I was emotionally exhausted, and every little thing, like a drop of rain, can makes you cry.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the summit in time for sunrise, but I did have a spectacular view.”
It took the group nine hours to reach the 5,895m peak. Miss Chatterton has raised just over £350. To help her raise more, visit justgiving/hannah chatterton1.
