Twycross Zoo’s ghost train is back by popular demand this October half term (Saturday 24th to Saturday 31st October 2009). Ghosts, gremlins and ghouls will be haunting the train and scaring the passengers as it travels through the middle of the Zoo. Watch the meerkats, bat-eared foxes, leopards and otters enjoy their enrichment in an unusual way. The animals will forage for the creepy crawlies that have been hidden in the bright orange jack-o-lanterns. This is fun to watch, with lots of excitement for the animals that enjoy catching the creepy crawlies and other gruesome treats that are hidden inside.
Join in the witch and wizard hat making activity in the Zoo Centre from Thursday 29th October to Saturday 31st October. Cut out bats, rats and spiders and decorate your Halloween hat which you can take home.
Ghoulish tastes of haunted cottage pie and lurch lasagne are available for anyone wishing to sample the spells and delights in the cafeteria.
Witches and wizards will be casting spells on all visitors who dare to visit the Halloween themed gift shop. Purchase one of the many creepy crawlies, bats, spiders or slithery snakes or take a dip into the trick or treat cauldron. For a memorable present, adopt one of the tiny baby seba’s fruit bats which are roosting in the tropical house bat cave.
