WORCESTER’S St Richard’s Hospice and Stourport-based IT support and solutions firm, OGL Computer, are combining for a special IT security seminar at Worcestershire County Cricket Club’s new Graeme Hick Pavilion on Tuesday, with all proceeds going to the charity.
The Protect IT seminar, focusing on data security, encryption and protection for small to medium-sized enterprises from the Worcester, Birmingham and Midlands area, is expected to attract about 50 companies as a result of high profile speakers from IT companies Check Point, CRYPTOCard plus OGL Computer itself.
The Stourport IT company, which has pledged to make a donation to St Richard’s Hospice for every company attending the seminar, will be supported by additional donations from representatives of the companies attending.
OGL Computer is also leading the drive to collect clothing which can be re-sold in St Richard’s Hospice shops, across Worcestershire. The company is distributing plastic bags across its 165-strong workforce to provide quality yet unwanted garments, and as well as spreading awareness of its work to encourage more local businesses on board, St Richard’s Hospice will also distribute plastic bags to seminar attendees with the aim of boosting the OGL collection.
OGL Computer’s operations director, Neil Morris, said: “As a long-term supporter of Kemp Hospice, Kidderminster, we’re extremely aware of the need and importance of hospice care. In the same way, St Richard’s Hospice, Worcester, plays a very important role in helping to give its patients and their families the best quality of life possible.”
