A HUSBAND and wife team will put on their trainers and tackle a 10-mile run to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Linda Blake, the deputy clerk of Malvern Town Council, and her husband Jonathan are in training for the Great South Run, which takes place in Portsmouth on Sunday, October 25.
She said: “The charity is something I was really keen to run for. I have had a lot of involvement in organising events and I have met a lot of the people involved, as well as the dogs in training, so it has become quite a personal charity.
“Neither of us had ever really run more than five miles before we started training for this.”
The couple welcome sponsorship, and have already exceeded their own expectations by gathering more than £300 in pledges.
Anyone who would like to support them can drop donations off at the Malvern Town Council offices in Belle Vue Terrace, or post cheques payable to Guide Dogs for the Blind to: Malvern Town Council, 28-30 Belle Vue Terrace, Malvern WR14 4PZ.
