A BRAVE teenager from Worcester has raised more than £2,000 for wounded soldiers after completing a 12,000ft skydive.

Leanne Cooper, of Birdlip Close, Warndon, plunged from the skies in aid of the Help for Heroes charity, which supports troops who have been injured in combat. Miss Cooper is a good friend of Lance Corporal Tom Neathway, from Worcester, who lost both legs and an arm fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.

The 19-year-old, who is studying science A-levels at Worcester College of Technology, conquered her fear of heights at Langar Airfield, near Nottingham last month. “I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me and both Warndon and St Peter’s Tesco where I collected just under £1,000.”
