CHILDREN have been learning about the meaning of Ramadan and the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-fitr.
There was a special assembly for parents and children last week followed by food-sharing at the Nunnery Wood Primary School.
As part of the celebrations, children have been involved in cooking workshops with parents and members of the community. Parents and friends have helped paint mendhi patterns on hands. In the classrooms, children were also involved in other art and creative work associated with Eid.
The school has also collected donations to help sponsor a child in Africa, which is the school charity.
Emma Cother, RE co-ordinator, said: “It has been fantastic. It has been a really positive experience at the school and has been very enjoyable for everyone.”
