A WORCESTERSHIRE author is hoping readers will think his new book is out of this world.
The Mercury Annual, penned by Stourport’s Mike Thomas, is set on a fictional planet in deep space which is struggling to tackle global warming.
The 55-year-old said: “Although the book represents a departure in style from my previous work I’ve still aimed it at the general reader.
“It is set on the planet of Razalia where the inhabitants would lead a serene life if it weren’t for the menace of an uncontrollable ecology which looks set to swallow their world.
“Although fictional, the novel is a way of reflecting on our own debate about climate change.”
The novel is published by Theaker’s Paperback Library is priced £6.99 and available from Lulu, Amazon and other online bookstores, as well as regular bookstores (ISBN 978-0-9561533-0-2).
