A 10-YEAR-OLD schoolboy used his detective skills to win a prize at Worcester Police Station’s open day.
Solomon Coggins, won a quiz about items found in the station and his prize was a Nintendo DS games console.
He brought along his prize as West Mercia police chief Paul West received a £1,000 cheque for the police community fund. The money was raised at the open day and will go to the charity which helps victims of crime.
Mr West, a trustee of the charity, said: “The open day was a great success with thousands of people coming along to see what goes on in a police station, meet officers and police staff working in their communities and enjoy the various activities that were on offer.
“It’s an added bonus that the day managed to raise such a fantastic donation for the police community fund and I would like to thank everybody who donated money or their time to make the open day as successful and worthwhile as it was.”
