AN author whose adventure novels have spent months on the bestseller lists in the US is coming to Worcester in a British first.
Vicky Holmes, who writes for the staggeringly-popular Warrior Cats series under the pseudonym Erin Hunter, will visit Waterstones in the Shambles on Saturday, October 24.
The fantasty adventure books, which are reguarly compared with Harry Potter and the Twilight Saga, have spent over 70 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
There are 30 books in total, including 18 novels, along with rumours that there is going to be a film adaptation.
Hunter’s appearance in Worcester will be the first time she has promoted the series on British soil.
People from all over the UK are expected to attend the event, which is being dubbed Warriors Day.
Waterstones event organiser Peter Leonard predicts big crowds.
He said: “The Worcester event will be the breakthrough for Erin Hunter in the UK, and in the likely event that the Warrior Cats series reaches the giddy popularity of Harry Potter, we can say that it all started here.
“We're already the envy of British fans up and down the country and we've been contacted by those who plan on travelling from London, Wales and York on the day to meet their favourite author.”
Hunter will be in store from 10am to 4pm to sign books, chat to fans and judge competitions.
