A MAN in his 40s was airlifted to hospital after injuring his leg walking.
The Midlands Air Ambulance was called to Colwall, in rural Worcestershire, after the man fell near woodland at about 4.45pm, on Sunday.
He suffered a suspected fracture to his right leg and was airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The location of the accident made getting an ambulance to the scene difficult but a rapid response car did get to the scene according to a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman.
She said: “He fell in quite an awkward location and that’s why the air ambulance was used.
“The helimed crew had to land about 100 yards away from the scene and walk down to the patient.
“It looks like he’s fallen while walking.”
