ARTISANS and retailers hope a vintage craft fair will promote local arts.
Worcester Arts and Vintage Events (WAVE) has been founded by a group of retailers and craft artists and is preparing to hold its first event.
The fair, at St Helen’s Church, Fish Street, Worcester, on Friday, July 24, will include hand-made items alongside vintage clothing and kitsch wares.
“We wanted to get something different happening in Worcester,” said WAVE co-founder Clare Bridge, owner of Secondhand Rose boutique in the Hopmarket.
“This will be the first of many events and it’s a great way of supporting local independent businesses, artists and crafters.”
The fair is already attracting interest and local artists who work in traditional techniques will be taking part.
Anyone interested in having a stall at the event, which will also include live acoustic music and an old-fashioned tea shop, can e-mail waveworcester@ hotmail.com or call 01905 29349.
