TWO giant Easter eggs have been given away to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.
Sheila Bakewell won one of the eggs in a raffle held by Treetz sweet shop in The Shambles Market Hall, Worcester.
The event raised £115 for the charity and another 4.5kg egg was donated to patients at the hospice in Wildwood Drive, Worcester.
Treetz owners James and Robert Thompson organised the event to thank hospice staff who cared for their grandmother, Valerie Wood.
This year St Richard’s celebrates 25 years of care.
In 2009 it needs to raise £4.8 million to provide free services to 1,800 patients and families suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses, including in-patient care, occupational therapy, bereavement support and a home care team.
