POLICE have revealed that the body found in a field close to the M5 in Worcestershire was that of a missing teenager.
Jade Tyler went missing on December 27, having last been seen at the Accident & Emergency Department of Worcestershire Royal Hospital in the early hours of the morning.
Having appealed for information on the whereabouts of the 16-year-old, of Carnforth Drive, Warndon, police then launched a poster campaign in the hope that someone knew where she was or the youngster would come forward.
But on Thursday a worker surveying farmland next to junction 6 of the motorway discovered the body and called police.
Officers closed the A4538 Pershore Lane, northbound, between the B4636 roundabout and the M5 junction 6 motorway island while forensic teams carried out a fingertip search of the area.
A post mortem was carried out yesterday and this afternoon police confirmed the body was that of the missing girl.
However the results of the post mortem have proved inconclusive as to the cause of death and further tests are to be carried out.
