STYLE conscious shoppers have the chance to buy some truly individual jeans, customised with their very own design, thanks to a special one-off event at a Worcester store.
Roscoe and Crombie in CrownGate Shopping Centre is welcoming acclaimed designer Kanji, from prestigious fashion brand Evisu, on Thursday, December 18.
Kanji will be in the store from noon until 4.30pm, when he will customise pairs of Evisu jeans for customers.
Each design will be specially created by the customer himself, with the help of an expert graphic designer.
Jeans that Kanji does not have time to work on in the store on the day will be taken away to be customised and sent through to each customer separately.
Seb Russo, Roscoe and Crombie’s co-manager, said he was delighted to welcome Kanji, especially as it was extremely rare for the designer to visit smaller independent stores.
“This is such a fantastic event and we are very lucky to be hosting it,”
he said. “Kanji is so talented and his customised products are extremely sought after.
“People will be able to have a pair of jeans that are truly individual – no one else in the world will have the same pair – and that is such a special feeling.”
Erica Burlace, CrownGate centre manager, said: “This is such a great event and it is brilliant that Roscoe and Crombie is attracting the attention of such high priority names in the fashion world – this is a boon for the store and the whole of CrownGate.”
Customers wanting to have a pair of jeans customised to order can buy a plain pair of Evisu jeans in their size before the event from Roscoe and Crombie.
They will then be able to create their own design before they are hand painted by Kanji.
Anyone interested can visit the Roscoe and Crombie store on Bank Street, near the entrance to Bell Square, to discuss the price and details, or they can contact 01905 21157.

Make a fesstive wonderland at home
BAUBLES, garlands, trees and ornamental reindeer – the options for transforming your home into a festive wonderland this Christmas are endless.
And if there’s anyone who knows their Christmas decorations it’s Sheila Crecraft and her son Wayne, owners of A Touch of Christmas in CrownGate Shopping Centre.
Their shop is bursting at the seams with every decoration you could think of in all colours of the rainbow.
Mr Crecraft said: “Christmas decorations are like fashion – everyone has very individual tastes, when it comes to decorating their homes for the festive season.
“We also notice that tastes change from town to town and year to year.
There is definitely a move back to the more traditional decorations in reds and greens this year.”
He said that blown glass was high on shoppers’ wish lists.
“There is a special quality, a shine and sparkle to glass. We have a huge range of hand-blown glass decorations from France and Germany that are excellent quality, and are flying off the shelves.
“Garlands are also proving very popular this year. We sell a range of those that customers can decorate themselves, which look great over fireplaces, on curtain rails or draped over door arches to add that extra Christmas feel to homes.”
The pair are bracing themselves for the busiest two weeks of the season and have been furiously stocking the shelves to keep up with demand.
“Trade throughout the Victorian fair was incredible. The next two weekends will be our busiest time as people start putting up their trees and realise they need to buy new decorations or replace old ones.
“Many customers love to come in and have a look around just to soak up the festive spirit and we will be ready and waiting to welcome everyone in and help them choose the best decorations to make their home look spectacular this Christmas.”
