CUDDLY bears brought Christmas cheer to the children who use Acorns Children’s Hospice thanks to a generous gift from a Worcestershire garden centre.

Ed Webb, executive chairman of Webbs at Wychbold, near Droitwich, helped to put a smile on the face of youngsters at the Worcester hospice when he delivered dozens of special edition Webbs bears.

Ninety bears have been delivered and will be divided between each of Acorns’ three children’s hospices in Worcester, Walsall and Selly Oak.

Fran Winterbourn, Acorns’ community fund-raising manager, said: “This is the third year that Webbs has donated bears to the children’s hospice and the children all fall in love with them straight away. We are very grateful to Webbs.”

Mr Webb said: “We have been a long-standing supporter of Acorns and we know the bears were so popular last year that we wanted to make the gift again. It’s great to see the children’s faces light up at the sight of them.”

Webbs also donated 30 of the special edition bears to the Family Support Service of St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester and to Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove.
