BUSINESS leaders, civic figures and local politicians gathered in Worcester’s historic Guildhall this week for a Christmas celebration.
The event saw more than 100 members of the community enjoy a Christmas carol service and drinks reception, courtesy of event organiser Andrew Grant, the Worcestershire estate agent and president of the Worcester Conservatives.
The Tory party’s local parliamentary candidate Robin Walker was one of the speakers at the event, and he told your Worcester News: “It went really well. I spoke about the economy, and about how Worcester will cope during the downturn in 2009. I spoke about the history of the Guildhall, and what an important part of Worcester’s history it is.”
Other guests at the celebration included the Mayor of Worcester, Lucy Hodgson, charity workers and key figures from the Worcestershire business community.
