A FEMALE High Court judge has been honoured after she presided at a Worcester court for the first time.
Justice Julia Macur, who wore her distinctive red robes of office, was at the centre of the special service at Worcester Cathedral yesterday.
Justice Macur is the first female High Court judge to preside over a Worcester court.
She was joined by circuit judges, district judges, under sheriffs and the chief constable at the Guesten suite before the judiciary service and evensong at the cathedral.
Justice Macur was a barrister in Birmingham, became a QC in 1998 and was appointed to the High Court bench in 2005.
She sat in Worcester Crown Court yesterday and will preside over a number of cases over the next two weeks.
