ONCE again, thousands of readers have voted for their favourite pooch in this year’s ever-popular Worcester News Pet Idol competition.
More than 400 proud pet owners sent in their entries. We printed them in the paper and asked you to vote for your favourite. After receiving a record 6,640 votes, we ended up with the 10 most popular mutts you see here. Tomorrow the cute cats will have their turn in the limelight and on Friday the top performers in the small furry animals category will feature.
This year we also have a special category for pets that look like their owners, which will be in the paper on Saturday.
A panel of judges including Jim Weston, managing director of JustforPets, editor of your Worcester News Kevin Ward and the newspaper’s promotions manager Sarah Bevan will pick each category’s winners.
The winners will then be invited to a ceremony at JustforPets, where the top pet will be crowned Pet Idol 2008.
