ALTHOUGH it was November 5 there were no fireworks at the annual meeting, just a friendly atmosphere.
Retiring president Eileen Williams, secretary Joan and retiring treasurer Viv gave their reports on a full and active year.
Retiring committee members were thanked for their help.
Mary Lou Locker, our WIA, encouraged members to take a turn on the committee saying what fun it could be. Those willing to stand were voted to serve and our new president will be Sally, supported by continuing secretary Joan and new treasurer Carolyn.
There was a bursary for Denman College in 2009 and members had the opportunity to put their names forward to take advantage of it.
Adjacent WI, Alfrick have asked a number of Rushwick members to their Christmas meeting on December 10, and on January 27 there will be a new speakers morning at Leigh Sinton.
Sadly no WI in Worcestershire had been successful in their application to Taylors Tea for a bursary to support a community project.
December’s business meeting will be very brief, taking place at Worcester Golf and Country Club, with the most important time on the agenda being our Christmas meal.
