THE piano below left dumped in a roadside hedgerow is the latest incident of fly-tipping.
Wychavon District Council is now appealing for information on how the piano, which is an old upright originally supplied by W H Austin, Worcester, came to be left on the side of the Wadbourgh to Abbottswood road.
Environmental crime officer Dave Roberts said: “Wychavon receives on average about 80 notifications of fly tipping a month, typically consisting of garden waste and tyres but this is the first time we have come across a dumped piano.”
Fly tipping costs Wychavon residents an average of £1,000 a week to clean up. It is a criminal offence and carries a fine of up to £50,000 or custody.
If you have any information of fly-tipping or the piano contact Dave Roberts on the fly-tipping hotline, 01386 565656. All information is treated in confidence.
