AN exotic evening of food, dance and music will bring a splash of summer to the winter months, while raising money for Indian orphans.
The Fold in Bransford is staging Live at the Fold, a new series of live music events, with a one-off charity spectacular.
The Orphans’ Solstice, on Sunday, December 21, will feature organic Indian food, live music from Transcendence, Fellfield and Oceans of Love, live video links with Indian children, projections and Indian dancing. Eighty per cent of the door price and a percentage of food and drink sales will be given to help Street Kids Community Village (SKCV), an orphanage in Vijayawada, South India. SKCV has offered a home, security and an education to nearly 800 boys and girls since 1989. It is run by Matthew Norton, whose son Madhava lives in Cradley and is the leader and songwriter of Transcendence.
Vegetarian curry will be available from 6pm to 8pm. Drinks, Indian snacks and sweets will be available to buy throughout the evening.
From 6pm to 7pm a live video link will run between The Fold and SKCV.
