PEOPLE can buy a special star to put on a Christmas tree and help raise money for people affected by multiple sclerosis.
Staff at Specsavers in Worcester city centre are selling the stars on behalf of the MS Society’s Christmas stars appeal.
For £1, customers can dedicate their star to someone they know, and either take it home to hang on their own tree, or put it on the one in the store in Broad Street.
Store director Alan Richards said: “Many people in the Worcester area have been affected directly or indirectly by MS and we would like to invite them to help us support the MS Society’s Christmas Stars appeal.
“Every £1 donation will go to this very worthy cause so we hope our customers will help us raise as much money as possible.”
The money raised will then be used to support the services the MS Society provides, including funding research.
Meanwhile, the store’s Operation Christmas Child appeal, run on behalf of Samaritan’s Purse, has been hailed a success after 244 shoeboxes filled with small gifts were dropped off at the store by customers.
