A CHRISTMAS trail will take place at Bishops Wood Environmental Centre when families can explore the site looking for clues relating to plants and animals.

The trail on Sunday, December 14, will also see children making edible tree decorations to feed the birds and at the end of the afternoon visitors will be able to take the edible decorations into Bishops Wood and decorate trees.

Other activities include making decorations from natural materials which the children can take home with them. Refreshments will be available and the suggested entrance donation is £2 for adults and £1 for children, while for members of Friends of Bishops Wood adults pay £1 and children go free.

John Rhymer, head of Bishops Wood Environmental Centre, said: “On the Christmas trail, children and their parents will enjoy exploring our site looking for clues which relate to the plants and animals which live here.

“Some of the connections between Christmas traditions and plants and animals originated back in Roman times and before.”

Bishops Wood Centre is situated just off the A449 at Crossway Green, near Stourport, and is run as a partnership between National Grid, Worcestershire County Council and Worcester College of Technology.
