WHILE most people are gearing up for Christmas, a group of Malvern officials and residents are looking forward to next summer.
Members of the Malvern in Bloom steering group are already planning next year’s attempt in the Heart of England in Bloom competition.
The committee is working on a number of events to encourage more people to take part in the town’s efforts, including a photographic competition, fund-raising events such as a coffee morning and car treasure hunt as well as an evening with former Britain in Bloom judge Bob Harris.
Chairman of the steering group Councillor John Jordan said: “His evening is called Bunches and Munches. He prepares a three-course meal and makes a flower arrangement – at the end of which the food becomes prizes in a raffle, tickets for which are sold to everyone at the start of the evening.”
Mr Jordan said if anyone has any suggestions about Malvern in Bloom and events leading up to it he would be delighted to hear from them and their ideas would be considered.
Mr Jordan can be contacted on 01684 566760.
Alternatively, people can contact Lyndsey Davies, at Malvern Town Council, Belle Vue Terrace, Malvern.
