A MAN was airlifted to hospital with head injuries following a crash on the M5 at Worcester today.
The male driver, believed to be in his 30s, had to be cut from his car after it collided with the central reservation at junction five on the M5 southbound shortly before 2.15pm.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service removed the vehicle’s roof before the man was taken to Selly Oak Hospital by County Air Ambulance for further treatment.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said three other vehicles, including two lorries and a van, were involved in the collision.
Southbound lanes remain closed and traffic has been at a standstill for most of the afternoon.
There are reports of some motorists waiting for over two hours, although traffic is now moving.
