A fashion show featuring vintage and modern clothes will raise cash for two local charities.
The Vintage Extravaganza will take place at St George’s Church, St George’s Square, Barbourne, Worcester, on Tuesday at 7pm.
All proceeds from the show will be split between Amazing Amy, a charity which supports research into leukaemia and St Richard’s Hospice in Wildwood Lane, Worcester.
Amazing Amy was a charity set up by Amy Lambert, aged nine, of Green Lane, Rainbow Hill, Worcester, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2001.
She received an emergency blood transfusion and her plight touched the hearts of thousands of Worcester News readers.
Amy hopes to model clothes on the day. She has not received treatment for the last five years and her mother Laura Duffy, 32, hopes she will be declared free of the illness in March next year.
Mrs Duffy, Amy’s father Darren and sister Casey, 12, are expected to attend the fund-raiser.
Mrs Duffy said: “We need support from everyone because we’re a small charity.
“Any support from anyone is always welcome. Amy is going to be part of the event as well.”
The fashion show itself will feature “special occasions attire” from the 1890s to the present day.
The event will have catwalk shows, music and dancing through the decades, jewellery and accessories, games and raffle prizes, including a cricket bat signed by cricketer Graeme Hick, fine wines and Christmas hampers as part of “feelgood prizes to beat the credit crunch”.
Organisers FaBJAM hope she will be able to turn up at the show but this has yet to be confirmed.
Charlotte Holland, of Battenhall, Worcester, who auditioned to be Nancy for I’d Do Anything in front of Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber, is set to make an appearance.
Tickets are available at Worcester College of Technology, Worcester Sixth Form College and Toadstool Vintage in the Tything.
Tickets cost £10 with a £5 charge for concessions, including pensioners, under 14s and students with identification.
Tickets are also available from Jenny Moore on 07845492778 and Fiona Barrett on 07546524154.
