FIVE stolen waterproofs have been replaced thanks to a kind-hearted councillor.
Bob Peachey, a Worcestershire county councillor, handed over a £100 donation to buy five replacement waterproofs after 22 sets of the clothing were stolen from Perry Wood Primary and Nursery School in St Alban’s Close, Ronkswood, Worcester.
The break-in at the school shed was discovered on Monday, November 3.
The clothes were used by children aged four and five and were considered a valuable part of the school’s outdoor curriculum.
Coun Peachey said he hoped more people would give donations so the remaining items of clothing could be replaced.
He said: “It’s awful. You wonder who could possibly be wanting that many clothes in infant sizes. It seems to be malicious rather than for money. I hope we can persuade someone else to give money so they can get their clothing back.”
