YOUTH club members have been learning about staying safe on popular online networking websites.

Perdiswell Community Church’s youth group – The Well, have been finding out how to be smart when using websites such as Bebo, MySpace and Facebook.

Police officers PC Paul Green and community support officer Jon Townsend were explaining how several simple tips can help young people enjoy their time online.

Gordon Robbins, who runs the group, said: “One of Jon’s top tips was never to put details of your address or telephone number on your personal profile.

“The children were really interested in what the police had to say. They also heard about the challenges of police work and discovered how difficult handcuffs really are to get out of.”

The Well meets on Tuesday evenings during term time from 7pm to 8.30pm at Perdiswell Primary School, Bilford Road, Worcester, and is open to young people in school years six to nine.
