TWO care workers have appeared at Worcester Crown Court accused of poisoning a patient.

Julia Bright and June Furmage denied administering poison and endangering the life of Dawn Saunders.

The alleged victim suffered an epileptic fit at Fairfield House care home in Bleathwood, Ludlow, on March 20.

Bright, aged 51, of Kyreside, Tenbury Wells, and 47-year-old Furmage, of Stanbrook Road, Tenbury Wells, were granted bail by Judge Andrew Geddes.

The judge ordered a pre-trial review on March 18 next year for the medical evidence to be assessed.

A six-day trial has been fixed to start on June 11.
